Struck more than two thousand years ago, this Roman Republican silver denarius has a deliberately serrated edge. It was issued by L. Cornelius Scipio Asiaticus and depicts Jupiter on both sides: his laureate portrait on the obverse and a dynamic four-horse chariot scene on the reverse.
