This is a scarce 1930-1931 Vintage Gillette NEW De Luxe Criterion open comb safety razor, originally because of the "great depression" not many of these razors were manufactured and fewer sold due to their premium price tag. Razor is made out of brass and weighs approximately 79g.
Overall this set is in very good condition considering its age, it does shows signs of wear and age, blemishes, etc. Please review all included pictures to evaluate the items condition, last picture highlight the typical hairline fissure on the upper handle, very common on these (does not affect razor functioning), in my opinion the fissure is hard to see during daily use unless you zoom in or look for it. Note that in some areas the original lacquer applied after manufacturing has turned amber over decades, that is normal, it is a good sign that the lacquer still there protecting the 24-carat gold plating underneath.
The razor have been thoroughly cleaned up and it will include 10 new Gillette Nacet (Ru) blades.
