Vintage Penn conventional reel with PENN embossed on both black bakelite side plates, a star drag, chrome pillar frame, spider style crank arm, and the red torpedo handle knob Penn used from the 1930s into the 1950s. Old braided linen or cotton line still on the spool. Roughly 3 inches wide by 2.5 inches in diameter. No model number found in the photos; it is one of the small to mid size Penn bay and surf models of the era.
Condition: as found, with heavy patina, green verdigris on the frame, cage bars, and star drag, surface rust on most metal, and crazing and scratches on the red knob. The reel turns but has not been cleaned or serviced and function is unknown. Sold as a display or restoration piece. Please study the photos.
