This is a late-1910s (possibly 1918?) hand-tooled leather Meeker bag with a bakelite turnlock. Someone must have kept this packed for decades and never used it because it is in truly amazing condition. The inside looks like we went back in a time machine. There is some verdigris around the folding parts that are touching the hardware. I'm sure that could be removed but I am hesitant to try since I am not a leather expert. The lock and tab mechanism works great. I did have the top tab glued in place by my cobbler since the pins were loose when I found it. But it's solidly on there now and works great. The hand-tooled leather is gorgeous. As you can see there are some light imperfections on the exterior, but nothing really significant.
