Up for sale here is this complete rebuild kit for the McIntosh C26 preamplifier. This includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors, replacements for most transistors, film capacitors to replace the old Mylar caps, replacements for any old Tropical Fish caps, and individual capacitors plus adapter plates to replace the can capacitors. This does NOT include any lights or fuses.
This kit includes 40 capacitors, 15 transistors, 2 resistors, and 2 can cap adapter plates. New capacitors are Nichicon PW, Panasonic film, Wima film, and 4 Nichicon VK caps to replace the can caps. Many of the capacitors go up in voltage, and the new can cap sections are 220 uf 250v. The old can capacitors are 4-section but are wired as dual-section caps, so both sections can be replaced with 220 uf 250v caps.These are all high-quality brand new genuineparts, the same parts I use when I rebuild McIntosh gear.
I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is a moderately complicated rebuild, so you should know what you\'re doing and have a decent soldering iron. This is fairly delicate work, so if you\'re not an experienced solderer this may not be a good idea.
