With the right sized disc for metering and angle of diaphragm deflection for volume of fuel. The wrong size of disc changes the volume of fuel drawn in and fed out.
The diaphragm has .030 travel designed in cut and measured in .060 total travel not a guestimate like others !
Blousing or looseness.
"Blousing is a way to provide a flat diaphragm with enough slack for stroking. Creating slack or "“blouse”" material in a flat diaphragm can be handled in a couple of ways. In the case of bolted flange mountings, the bolt circle can be slightly larger in the diaphragm than on the housing. If the part is round and crimped at the OD, the diaphragm should be made larger than the OD."
My bolt holes are calculated and cut accordingly.
The diaphragm area is round and crimped by the carb body ridge.
