This is the FL12N Head Car Decoder with Dimming Function, a DCC-friendly product from Hobby Center KATO.
An upgraded version of the original FL12, the FL12N adds a manual dimming function.
Lighting can be controlled not only via throttle ON/OFF, but also manually using function keys, allowing for more realistic night-time passing scenes or station stops.

• This decoder is for use with head cars and has a specific insertion direction.
• Unlike the previous “FL12” model which required physical orientation adjustment, the FL12N uses the same insertion direction for both head cars and allows direction to be changed via settings.
• You can enjoy throttle-controlled dimming during passing scenes or stops, or enable manual dimming via CV programming and function keys.
• This product includes two FL12N decoders, enough for both ends of a train set.
