This decoder allows you to convert KATO model train cars to DCC by replacing the light board installed in the lead car. It
is primarily compatible with cars that have boards that support DCC-friendly decoders. The BDT-40 combines the tech of the KATO FL12 decoder and the light plate into one unit.
You will need to know the part# of your light plate. Please indicate your light plate part# when ordering.
