Each 9 x 5 inches overall; With manuscript captions to mount recto and verso; two with Grier's Nashville credit, affixed to the mount and split.An interesting typological group of photographs presenting the uniform and equipment of a civil war soldier and how it should be correctly worn. The four photographs were affixed to a single mount, which has trimmed into four pieces. Accompanying each image there are extensive notations, suggesting these are some kind of proofs or preliminary studies.The photographs were taken by Carl "C.C." Griers, a Nashville commercial artist who photographed both Confederate and Union soldiers.
