FRENCH OFFICES IN CHINA – EARLY MINT COLLECTION – PART 1

Attractive specialized group of 15 unused / mint stamps of the French Post Offices in China, including early \"Chine\" overprints on French Peace & Commerce issues and later general issues for the French Offices in China.

The early group includes denominations from 5 Centimes to 5 Francs, including the better 2 Francs and 5 Francs values.

Also included are later French Offices in China issues including the large-format 50 Centimes, 1 Franc and 2 Francs Merson stamps.

The 50 Centimes carmine \"Chine\" overprint is MNH with original gum. The other stamps are unused / mint in mixed gum condition, mostly hinged or with hinge remnants and in some cases old paper or mounting adherences.

The 2 Francs Merson stamp has several old expert/owner marks on the reverse. Additional enlarged scans of the stamp and its reverse are included.

Specialist note:
The early French Offices in China issues are a specialized collecting field with different overprint types and varieties. Forged overprints are also known. The individual stamps and old reverse markings have not been expertized by us and the lot is therefore offered exactly as shown for specialist examination.

Condition:
Unused / mint in mixed condition as described above. The 50 Centimes carmine stamp is MNH with original gum. Other stamps show hinges, hinge remnants, gum toning and/or old mounting adherences. Please examine both the front and reverse scans carefully.
