FRENCH OFFICES IN CHINA – SURCHARGE COLLECTION – PART 2
Interesting specialized group of 11 unused / mint stamps of the French Post Offices in China, including different Chinese currency and CENTS surcharge issues.
The collection includes Blanc, Mouchon and Merson types with a variety of denominations and surcharge combinations, including the large-format 1 Franc Merson stamp surcharged 40 CENTS.
The stamps come from an old specialized collection of French Post Offices in China.
Specialist note:
The French Offices in China surcharge issues are a specialized collecting field with different surcharge types and varieties. The individual surcharge varieties have not been expertized and the stamps are therefore offered exactly as shown for specialist examination.
Condition:
Unused / mint in mixed gum condition, mostly hinged or with hinge remnants and normal age-related traces. One stamp has a reverse thin / paper loss and another has a small tear at the lower edge. An additional annotated reverse scan is included showing these faults. One stamp also shows an old expert/collector mark on the reverse.
