Estate sale find. The photo is amazing! The back of frame will need to be taped up to stay together.
Antique early-20th-century black-and-white wedding party photograph showing two young men and two young women posed in formal attire. Both women hold floral bouquets, suggesting this may depict a wedding party or possibly a double-wedding portrait.
The back is handwritten “Valerie,” although it is unknown which person the name identifies. An original label reads:
F. W. Dupke & Co. – Picture Framing & Decorating – Hotel Hilton Block – Beloit, Wisconsin
F. W. Dupke & Co. appears in historic Beloit records, including a city directory and 1912 newspaper references, supporting an early-1900s date. Based on the clothing, hairstyles, and local framing label, I would conservatively date the photograph to approximately 1905–1915.
Presented beneath glass in a period dark wood-grain frame.
Approximate framed measurements: 13.5 inches wide x 16.5 inches tall.
Antique condition with age-related fading, surface marks, and small areas of image wear. The frame has scratches and finish wear. The paper backing is heavily torn, brittle, stained, and partially missing, with old tape repairs and an aged hanging wire. The original framer label remains attached. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition.
