Excellent antique condition. The woven glass bead panel remains intact, with the rose design and patterned fringe appearing complete. The beads retain strong color and shine. Loose black thread ends remain at the top as part of the original construction. No obvious missing beads, broken fringe strands, repairs or significant damage were found. DESCRIPTION
Antique handwoven glass seed-bead panel or bookmark, likely dating from approximately the 1910s–1920s.
The narrow rectangular panel features a large pale pink rose with green leaves and scrolling accents against a glossy black background. The lower edge is finished with long patterned glass-bead fringe in coordinating black, green and pink. Loose black thread ends at the top form a tassel-like finish.
Measures approximately 10 inches long, including the fringe, × 2 inches wide.
The beads are glass and display the slight variations in shape associated with older seed beadwork. The panel remains in excellent antique condition, with the woven design and fringe appearing complete. The beads retain strong color and shine. No obvious missing beads, broken fringe strands or repairs were found.
The original maker and exact intended use are unknown. It may have been created as a decorative bookmark, hanging ornament, garment accessory or beadwork panel.
