A very unusual antique silver piece incorporating a genuine preserved shamrock beneath glass, mounted in a silver circular bezel.The shamrock component is stamped WHH, attributed to William Hair Haseler of Birmingham, an important Birmingham silversmith associated with Arts & Crafts and Liberty & Co.The piece is further assembled with an attractive antique silver tassel/fob section and a separate Birmingham silver hallmarked heart, bearing the traditional lion passant, Birmingham anchor and date letter.Details:* Genuine preserved real shamrock beneath glass
* Silver circular shamrock mount
* WHH maker’s mark to the silver mount
* WHH attributed to William Hair Haseler
* Antique silver tassel/fob
* Silver heart with Birmingham hallmarks
* Lovely aged/patinated appearance
* Highly unusual and collectible piecePlease note: The WHH shamrock mount and the hallmarked heart/tassel appear to be separate antique components that have been assembled together. I am therefore not claiming that the entire assembled piece was originally manufactured as one item by WHH.The Birmingham hallmarks on the heart include the lion passant, Birmingham anchor and an X date letter. The date letter appears consistent with an older Birmingham hallmark, although I have not attributed a definitive year to the complete assembled piece.
