Beautiful , authentic Antique H.A. Johnson & Co. Stoneware Preserves Crock from Boston, Massachusetts. This classic piece of American advertising stoneware features a bold, highly legible black stencil that reads "HOME MADE PRESERVES / MANUFACTURED BY / H. A. JOHNSON & CO. / BOSTON, MASS." inside a decorative border. Its original wire bail carrying handle and its original wooden spindle grip, are still intact adding to a rustic charm. It makes an excellent accent piece for a farmhouse kitchen, country home decor, or an addition to an antique stoneware collection.
The black stenciled lettering is incredibly crisp, sharp, and easy to read. Please note that the original stoneware lid is missing (selling as an open jar/crock as pictured)
There are no major chips however there is a surface crack in the glaze that does not affect the lettering.
