This beautiful piece represents the historic era when the Dutch East India Company (VOC) commissioned Japanese potters in Arita to supply the European aristocratic market with high-end porcelain.Design Details:
Center Medallion: Hand-painted underglaze blue depicting a bird perched on a rocky outcrop among stylized autumn flowers and foliage. Notably features a charming, finely painted cricket/grasshopper resting near the base of the rocks—a classic East Asian motif. Border: A classic Fuyo-de arrangement split into radiating alternating panels decorated with sunflowers, precious objects, and geometric dot patterns. Underside: Painted with continuous scrolling floral tendrils and featuring a distinct, stylized underglaze blue kiln/pottery mark inside a gabled frame to the center.Dimensions:
