This frame has me scratching my head. I wonder what the story is on this. It has a fancy ornate pediment on the top and shoulders of the upper part. There are 3 rosette type pins on the frame. One on the top center and two on the bottom corners. It has a hanging wire on the back. The cardboard backer was nailed in at one time and then glued down. The well area measures 3/4\" deep. The dark stain makes it look like it may have had another sort of trim on the inner part of the frame. It sort of has a niche or retablo look to it. If you have any insight message me and I will put it in the description. It is worn but definitely has character. I almost think it may have had a religious picture of some sort in it at one time. A great piece to get creative with. The finish is distressed and worn in areas. It is 22 1/2\" tall and 10 3/4\" wide.
