About the Artist: Alfred Leopold Isidor Kubin was an Austrian printmaker, illustrator, and occasional writer. He was born in Bohemia in the town of Leitmeritz, Austro-Hungarian Empire (now Litomice). Kubin is considered an important representative of Symbolism and Expressionism. Kubin often evoked dark, moroffer, and imaginative elements to create his riveting black-and-white drawings and prints.
