This series of striking original gallery posters were created to advertise the \"100 Jahre Alfred Kubin\" (100 Years of Alfred Kubin) retrospective festival exhibition held inside the historic Bregenz Casino from July 23 to August 21, 1977. The design beautifully mirrors its venue, framing a golden central roulette wheel with classic playing card suit icons (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades) down the borders. This landmark exhibition was curated by legendary art dealer Manfred Scheer, founder of Vienna\'s iconic Galerie 10, who was universally known for championing Austria’s greatest surrealist and avant-garde masters.
### PROVENANCE & DISCOVERY HISTORY:
This piece is a true deadstock time-capsule find with stellar gallery history. A large archival tube of 119 signed, uncirculated posters was recovered prior to a building demolition where it had been undisturbed for nearly 50 years. Each of the 119 posters were hand-signed at the bottom right by art dealer and the curator of the exhibition himself, Manfred Scheer.To be clear, this is the gallery/curator\'s signature, not the artist\'s; Alfred Kubin died in 1959
