Remember, "Schedule" pipe is ALWAYS measured to the inside. (i.e. - if a pipe is listed at 3-1/2" Schedule 40, it means 3-1/2" ID) and on a 3-1/2" pipe, Schedule 40 is about 1/4" thick wall, so about 4" OD...but Schedule thickness varies, with pipe size, so ask questions if you don't understand pipe measurements.
