Wonderful piece of early Charlie Chaplin and World War I popular-culture ephemera, published at the height of Chaplin's early fame.
Words by Edward Stanning and Thurland Chattaway, set to the melody of Kerry Mills' famous “Red Wing”. The cover identifies music-hall performer Miss Lillie Soutter and advertises it as “The Song that Half the Nation is Singing,” quoting theDaily Mail, December 1, 1915.
The song was famously associated with British troops during World War I and includes the refrain about Charlie Chaplin's boots and baggy trousers.

Condition:Good antique condition for a piece more than 100 years old. Overall age toning, edge wear, small edge tears/chips and creasing, particularly around the cover edges. There is a small area of paper loss/damage near the upper edge. Interior remains quite clean and readable. Please examine photographs carefully for condition.
