1934 Springfield Reproduction 1903A1 stocks also fit 1903A3 Remington and Smith Corona rifles PERFECTLY. These have the much improved and thinner grip area over the Keystone Reproduction stocks I currently offer. Look at the last two pictures for comparison of the 1934 and Keystone grip. The 1934 is much more accurately made to be correct for 1930 to the end of production Springfield 1903A1 rifles and the stocks made by Springfield for the original Remington 1903A4\'s. I also tried to improve the pressure on the forearm to the barrel. No metal is included.Minor fitting or work with a hand drill is required but very correct. There are numerous other things that can be done to bed your riflebut the following is the minimum that should be done and checked toinsure a positive outcome. Also research videos and books on fittinga bolt action stock to a rifle.
Firsttest fit the barreled action. At the back of the action make sure youhave a 1/16\" to 3/32\" gap between the tang and the stock. Iuse a 1/2\" sanding drum. Better 3/32\" gap for safety. Nextfit the sling band to the rifle by filing on the handguard where theband will be when the rifle is assembled, I use a 3/8\" file. Nowassemble the rifle leaving the triggerguard screws loose one halfturn. Put the assembled rifle with the muzzle down on the ground andpush the rifle into the ground firmly then tighten the guard screws,front first and rear last. After firing a couple shots recheck theguard screws again. That should get you where you need to be.
