The title page states that the work is illustrated by 180 engravings.This important early Connecticut history contains historical accounts, geographical descriptions, biographical sketches, local history, and numerous period engravings of Connecticut towns, buildings, and landmarks.A major feature of this copy is the original hand-colored folding Connecticut map. The map is present, but it has separated into two sections along an old fold. One section remains with the book and the other section is detached. Please review the map photographs carefully for its exact condition.The book retains its period leather binding with gilt decoration, black spine title label, and marbled endpapers.CONDITION:
Antique condition with substantial age and storage wear. The leather binding shows heavy rubbing, staining, discoloration, surface wear, edge wear, and chipping/losses at the spine ends and corners.
