This early Connecticut history volume contains numerous black and white engraved illustrations and a fold-out color map of Connecticut showing counties and towns.

Bound in leather with decorative gilt border designs on the boards and spine. The exterior shows heavy age and wear including rubbing, cracking, and edge wear. The spine leather is fragile and flakes when handled. The front board is loose and the hinges show weakness but the book remains intact.

Interior pages show age toning and foxing consistent with books from this period. The interior pages appear generally clean for their age and the engraved illustrations remain clear. The fold-out color Connecticut map is present.

Previous owner names and pencil markings appear on early pages.

Despite the worn binding, this remains a substantial early Connecticut historical reference filled with detailed engravings and descriptions of towns throughout the state.
