This is a delightful Ming DynastyBaby Buddha with two fingers pointing up to the heavens and two toward the ground. This type of Buddha is found only in China, Japan, and Korea, and represents the Buddha taking his first steps. In very good condition with all of his fingers fully intact. He has exceptionally little wear to the original lacquer and gilding. The bronze base is permanently attached in a high quality modern wooden base, so it is not possible to see this part of the base. It came from a Thai collector who purchased it in China over 50 years ago. He is not one of the many copies sold on E-Bay. He stands about 7" heigh not including the base. He is solid cast and quite round- as a baby should be!
