15th/16th Century Burma Bronze Buddha- very uncommon:

This is a very uncommon and authentic 15th century Buddha from Burma. It is a quite uncommon standing poodle. It was solid cast in two parts. This is the top half, which is separated from the bottom, but not broken. It was solid cast in an early casting style. This piece has one very short arm and the other is holding something I cannot identify. The face and head have features associated with early Shan style Buddhas, but it also has remnants of earlier styles, such in the way that the finial is that far back on the head on Pagan Buddhas. The patina is fantastic, with traces of gilding and lacquer mixed with a smooth dark shiny face. It appears to have had centuries of burial, but the expressiveness in character come through well. It stands 5 7/8 inches high, 8 inches with the custom base. This is a collectors piece.
