This is an excellent preamp. The Spec 3 or C-73 is a pioneer preamp that is used with the pioneer Spec rack system. The preamp was released later than the spec 1 preamp. It has a cleaner sound with a more direct signal path that pioneer was looking for to compete with the ultra elite hifi at the time. The pioneer spec equipment was truly amazing and has a professional recording studio natural sound. The preamp has the ability to craft your sound and it looks and feels professional. I love absolutely love the pioneer spec equipment. This baby is so nice and sounds amazing. This is my personal spec system that im selling off. Inquire about any other pieces needed. The unit was serviced about 4 years ago. it looks and sounds great
