lss USA C11 1928 Beacon Airmail MNH VF Plate Block of 20 \'No TOP\' Very Rare!!I offer this impressive 1928 USA airmail block featuring the red and blue Beacon on Rocky Mountains design, showcasing the rare No TOP plate block variety in a substantial block of 20 stamps. These are very rare and very hard to get. Only two blue (vignette) plate numbers were used duringthe second printing, 19597 and 19598.Both of these showthe round blue disc in the top sheet margin caused fromburnishing out the registration markings of the firstprinting. The disc appears round on sheets of 100, andas a half circle on panes of 50, with a 15mm diameter. (See Top Left of sheet.)We present Scott C11 as mint never hinged with very fine centering and original gum, including plate block with No TOP variety and catalog value of $600 with premiums.This C11 issue marks a key moment in early U.S. airmail history, commemorating the lighted airway beacon system that guided pilots across the Rockies during the late 1920s aviation boom.
