All you do is take off your handle by unscrewing the wing bolt ,then after installing the flat bar and nut install my adapter into your auger shaft My adapter drill end has three flats that are made for a 3/8 drill chuck or larger I do not recommend any auger larger than a 6 inch. If you have a larger auger I recommend my geared adapter also listed. The flat bar was made so that if you accidentally drop the auger from the drill it will not go through the hole. I also have a ice kicker 1 with a handle and bearing installed it is a preferrence thing ,but it accommodates either a wing bolt or threaded handle and only fits a 1/2 inch drill chuck,, This adapter was first made in 1999 and has been a best seller for the reason it can be used with any 3/8 chuck drill or larger but only comes in a wing bolt style hand driven ice auger . this means that the end of this adapter has a bolt hole and not internal threads which was needed for the older strikemaster moras. I was the original inventor of the adapter in 1999 when people said it just couldn\'t work boy were they wrong
