c1910s Woman with Taxidermy Wolf Moving Jaw Cord Unusual Antique Photo For Sale

Unusual original antique photograph, dating approximately to the 1910s–1920s, showing an elegantly dressed young woman posing beside what appears to be a taxidermy wolf.

The photograph has a particularly strange and theatrical composition. The woman is seated beside the taxidermy animal with its mouth open and teeth prominently exposed, while holding a very thin cord or string in her left hand.

The purpose of the cord is uncertain, but it is an intriguing detail. It may possibly have been connected with the taxidermy animal or an articulated jaw mechanism, allowing the mouth to be moved by pulling the cord. This interpretation cannot be confirmed from the photograph alone, but the visible cord and dramatically opened mouth make the composition especially unusual.
