Map of Cities from San Jose to Redwood City Inclusive / Map of San Jose, Santa Clara & Vicinity.This is a c. 1934 Thomas Bros. Map of today\'s Silicon Valley region. One side of the map covers from Redwood City to San Jose, with insets of Campbell, Saratoga and Los Gatos, East San Jose, and Gilroy and vicinity. Streets are labelled and listed in indexes in the main map and insets while railways, highways (the under construction Bayshore Highway, U.S.-101), and other features such as Stanford University are labelled. The verso contains a map of San Jose and Santa Clara, highlighting the location of a Mayflower Moving and Storage Warehouse. An inset map at right covers the northern part of the Peninsula from Hillsborough to San Carlos. Advertising appears on both sides for Mayflower, which sponsored the map\'s publication.
This map utilizes a somewhat earlier Thomas Bros. map (OCLC23856584), to which the Mayflower advertising was added. Both printings of the map are quite scarce, with the present issue (OCLC 1040058269) held by Stanford University, the University of California Berkeley, and the University of California Los Angeles.
