Original hand-signed and numbered color lithograph by French artist Yves Ganne (b. 1931, Anjou), depicting a sunlit Mediterranean harbor scene — likely Saint-Tropez, identifiable by the distinctive clock tower overlooking the quay — with a white-hulled sailboat moored in the foreground, ochre and gold tile rooftops, and pastel harbor-front buildings under a deep blue sky.
Signed in pencil lower right and numbered 169/275 in the lower margin. Ganne studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes and under Fernand Léger in Paris, first gaining notice at the 1950 Prix de la Jeune Peinture and winning the Prix de la Ville de Menton the same year. He held annual exhibitions at the Galerie Drouant in Paris for over thirty years and had his first American solo show at the Van Diemen-Lilienfeld Gallery in New York in 1966.
Comes with the original Collector's Guild Ltd. authentication certificate (Société de Vérification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris), confirming the edition of 275 and that the lithographic stone was defaced after the limited run was completed, along with a period magazine clipping profiling the artist — both still affixed to the frame backing, included with the piece.
