These are substantial live Opuntia cactus pads intended for planting and propagation. Their larger size makes them a great choice for starting a cactus patch, adding an established-looking specimen to the landscape, or growing in a large sunny container.

🌞 EASY TO GROW

Prickly pear loves sunshine and fast-draining soil. Once established, it needs very little water and handles hot, dry conditions exceptionally well.

Allow the freshly cut end to callus before planting. Then place the bottom of the pad about 1–2 inches into dry, well-draining cactus soil and give it plenty of light.

Our prickly pear started from just a handful of pads about 8 years ago and now grows throughout The Dog and Crow Co. here in Southern California\'s Inland Empire.

These aren\'t warehouse plants — we harvest our pads from the cactus we grow ourselves.
