This is nice for someone making a shadow box display for a WWI veteran without having to put a whole uniform jacket in the frame. It is made from a WWI wool blanket (it had some damage) and has stitching to give it the uniform collar appearance. The collar is 6 inches wide and 4 inches tall when folded. Since enlisted soldiers only had two collar insignia, I chose to have the collar pointing down which gives it a nice look.
Two tips for buyers. Even though it is 100 years old, the fabric is still quite strong so you will need to use a nail to punch holes in the collar for the screw backs to pass through. Also, if you are hanging the display instead of laying it flat, you should put a small stich in the top of the two halves to keep them from sliding apart (I didn’t do this because it is easier to attach the insignia with the collar open).
