WWI Bavarian Model 1855 Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard and Hanger. Ricasso is marked with a Knights head mark of Kirschbaum. The grip and backstrap are a little loose, the guard is loose. The grip is down to the wood and there is a piece missing at the top. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, the tip is a little sharp, no nicks, has "In Treue Fest" (steadfast in loyalty, firm in fidelity) etched on it, and has small light age spots scattered. The scabbard is solid with one dent by the drag, has light scratches, some small spots of surface rust mainly on the lower third, and it is tight on/off by the ricasso. Washer is missing. Length of the blade measures 32" (7/8" wide x 1/4" thick spine), length of the sword is 36 15/16", and in the scabbard it is 37 15/16".
