There\'s an imprint in the letterhead above his printed name. \"WLS\" which stands for his initials. Neat Mint signature in a dark black pen. Near mint+ letter, which contains ZERO mailing fold lines. Extremely clean on both sides. The text is in dark black type. Also have a Charles Whittingham letter with two signed FDCs listed. *I\'ve been a collector since 1970. I learned about collecting autographs through columns in old trade magazines, such as The Trader Speaks and Newsreel. I\'ve been selling autographed items on for over twenty years. Unless otherwise noted, each was personally obtained for my own collection or inventory. This was mostly via the mail route from 1973-95.*14-year-old exhibitor at the third and last annual Brea Show in 1971. (This SoCal get-together was a forerunner of the Nat\'l Sports Collectors Con.) Member of the Universal Autograph Collectors Club (UACC) and Society for American Baseball Research (SABR). Contributor to SABR\'s ongoing Baseball Biography Project. Authored the 259-page book Baseball\'s Golden Half-Century 1910-1959 (published in 2007). Great nephew and sole researcher of Paul Martin, who illustrated twenty magazine covers for Collier\'s, played against B.Tilden and in three US Opens.
