Today I am offering this fabulous vintage, authentic mid-century modern art glass pitcher designed by the legendary Erik Höglund for Boda Glassworks (Sweden, circa 1950s-1960s).
This hand-blown pitcher features a striking, vibrant turquoise blue cased glass body with a robust, beautifully applied handle.

It measures approximately as follows:

It is in EXCELLENT vintage pre-owned condition.
The body, rim, handle, and interior have no chips, cracks, flea bites, scratches, or unsightly cloudy hard-water staining.
It is bright and glossy.
There is some normal surface scratching on the underside base from age and shelf wear, as expected for an authentic vintage piece.
The markings were hard to photograph, and are a little difficult to see because they are faint, so I took the picture and outlined the signature and numbers in blue.

HERE\'S SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PRODUCT AND ARTIST:
Erik Höglund developed this exact opaque turquoise line in 1966. He was directly inspired by the vivid semi-opaque colors of traditional Bedouin jewelry he saw during a trip to Egypt in 1964. The dynamic way it catches the light across those varying thicknesses is exactly what makes these pieces stand out so beautifully on a shelf.
Instead of using a white inner core, the artisans at Boda layered two different densities of the same turquoise color together. This master technique gives the pitcher its heavy, semi-opaque, porcelain-like depth without needing a white interior.
Because the color runs completely through the wall of the pitcher from inside to out, that gorgeous ombre effect happens purely because the colored glass stretches thinner or bunches thicker as it is blown into shape. It is a hallmark of premium mid-century Scandinavian design
