Vtg 1978–81 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wilson #20 TRAMMELL Creamsicle Jersey Sz 44 For Sale

Vintage Tampa Bay Buccaneers #20 football jersey by Wilson, tagged size 44 and Made in USA. This is a particularly interesting early Buccaneers piece with period-style mesh construction, applied numbers, sleeve striping and a sewn-on TRAMMELL nameplate.
The jersey shows legitimate age and use, including an old repair at the shoulder/seam area, wear to the numbering and other signs consistent with a football jersey that was used rather than simply kept as a souvenir. Please inspect all photos closely.

Research into the jersey has uncovered an interesting possible history. Tampa Bay began play in 1976, with former Florida Gators quarterback Steve Spurrier on the inaugural Buccaneers roster. Spurrier’s longtime friend Allen Trammell was a former Houston Oilers defensive back and later a Florida assistant coach.
Even more interesting, Tampa Bay’s documented #20 during the 1976 season was former Florida Gator Vince Kendrick, who had played at Florida while Trammell was on the coaching staff and appeared only briefly for Tampa Bay.
One possibility is that this was a genuine Buccaneers #20 team jersey, potentially from the club’s early equipment inventory, that was later fitted with the TRAMMELL nameplate. Another possibility is that it was personalized for Allen Trammell as a gift. That history has not been independently authenticated and no documentation accompanies the jersey, so it is being sold as found and represented only by the physical characteristics shown in the photographs.
Regardless of provenance, this is an unusual early Wilson Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey with tremendous display appeal and a fascinating Florida football connection.
