Original vintage Victor diner/restaurant ware coffee mug manufactured by Victor Insulators of Victor, New York.
Victor originally manufactured heavy-duty porcelain electrical insulators and began producing extremely durable coffee mugs during World War II. Victor mugs later became widely used in American diners, restaurants and other institutions and are now collectible examples of classic American restaurant ware.
This mug features the classic heavy Victor construction with thick porcelain walls, substantial rounded rim, sturdy handle and cream/off-white glaze.
The bottom is impressed \"VICTOR.\"
Based on the VICTOR-only bottom marking without the later MADE IN U.S.A. wording, this appears to be a pre-1986 example.
