These are authentic vintage Romco (Rochester Optical) RO 50-20 full-rim eyeglass frames. Originally manufactured under US military contract, these historic GI-issue \"birth control glasses\" feature a heavy-duty translucent crystal amber/brown acetate construction, a retro keyhole bridge, and iconic exposed metal rivet detailing on the structural 5-barrel hinges.
Condition Details:
- Frame Only: This listing is strictly for the eyeglass frames. The existing lenses remain installed, but their prescription/type is unknown; no value is assigned to the lenses, and they are intended for replacement. Have your optician assess the frame for your desired lenses before purchase.
- Wear: Pre-owned vintage condition. The frames exhibit character-building cosmetic signs of historical use, including minor surface scuffs, light pocket wear, and fading to the internal white manufacturer temple stamps. The structural riveted hinges remain rigid and functioning smoothly.
