Vintage Matched Pair Riveted Aluminum Industrial / Transport Trunks – 30” & 36”Unusual matched pair of vintage aluminum-clad trunks featuring extensive riveted construction, dark blue reinforced edging, metal corner protectors, folding handles and fitted green interiors.Both trunks retain their removable interior trays. The trunks are nearly identical in construction and proportions and appear to be two graduated sizes from the same series.Dimensions / WeightLarge: approximately 36” W × 17” D × 14.5” H — 17 lbs.Small: approximately 30” W × 17” D × 14.5” H — 15 lbs.One latch on the smaller trunk is marked “Fuji.” This hardware differs somewhat from other hardware on the trunks and may be a period replacement; therefore, no attribution to Fuji is being made.Exact manufacturer and original application are unknown. Their lightweight aluminum construction and utilitarian design suggest they were made as industrial, equipment or transport cases.Condition: Very good vintage condition with substantial cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. Aluminum surfaces show scratches, scuffs, oxidation/discoloration and remnants from old labels. Dark edge trim has finish loss. Interiors show scratches, marks and localized finish loss.
