An authentic Piero Fornasetti Milano rectangular porcelain ashtray featuring one of the designer's richly detailed tobacco advertising-inspired compositions. The sculptural form, highlighted by a hand-applied gilt luster finish and crisp black transfer decoration, exemplifies the visual wit and craftsmanship that have made Fornasetti one of Italy's most celebrated twentieth-century designers.
Originally intended as an ashtray, this architectural form is equally compelling today as a desk accessory, catchall, valet tray, or decorative object. Its bold silhouette and graphic imagery make it an unmistakable statement piece whether displayed alone or incorporated into a curated tabletop collection.

Number3 Notes
Many of Fornasetti's most enduring objects succeed because they blur the line between function and sculpture. This ashtray is a perfect example. Its distinctive architectural form and layered graphics give it a presence that extends well beyond its original purpose. Today it feels equally at home on a desk, bookshelf, or cocktail table, where it serves as a beautifully designed object in its own right.
