Original vintage 1950-60s Humes & Berg Beauty-Fold music stand made for Bob Stusynski and his Orchestra.
This is the folding band-front style used by dance bands and orchestras during the big band era. The front has great red and cream hand painted graphics with “Bob Stusynski and his Orchestra” lettering and musical note decoration.
Bob Stusynski and His Orchestra was probably playing things like swing and ballroom dance music & jazz — probably at dance halls, ballrooms, weddings, clubs, hotels, or similar events.
The original maker’s label remains on the back and reads “Beauty-Fold Music Stand – Patented – Humes & Berg Mfg. Co. Inc. – East Chicago, Ind.”
When standing in the displayed position, it measures approximately 38 3/4” tall × 20 1/2” wide × 14 1/2” deep.
Made of Masonite
It can be displayed standing up as shown, or you could easily add a sawtooth picture hanger to the back or eyelet screws to the top if you’d prefer to hang it on the wall like a sign.
The stand shows expected wear from age and actual use, including scratches, scuffs, paint loss and other surface wear. There is also a small chip toward the lower right corner area, as shown in the photos.
