Striking vintage Murano Venetian art glass freeform bowl / ashtray, dating to approximately the 1950s–1960s. The heavy hand-formed clear glass body features a sculptural lobed rim with deep pulled indentations, creating the classic organic Mid-Century Modern form associated with postwar Murano production. Brilliant red and orange glass threads sweep freely throughout the clear body, accented by scattered gold-toned metallic inclusions that add depth and sparkle when viewed in the light. The substantial clear casing beautifully magnifies the internal decoration from different angles. An excellent small-scale example of vintage Italian art glass with particularly energetic color and movement. Measures approximately 5\" wide.
