A red centre-seconds hand and sculpted, tapered lugs give this Movado Solidomatic its distinctive mid-century character. The cream dial has aged to warm honey tones, with applied even-numbered Arabic numerals, alternating pointed markers and a finely divided outer track.
Swiss-made and dating approximately to the 1950s, this watch measures 35mm across the case and 10mm thick. Its 17-jewel bumper automatic movement is signed “MOVADO FACTORIES” and “SWISS MADE.” The limited-travel winding mechanism adds mechanical interest to a watch whose appeal extends beyond its appearance.
The silver-tone case is fitted with a stainless-steel back and an 18mm brown leather strap with matching stitching. Slender silver-tone hour and minute hands provide a restrained contrast to the red seconds hand, while the curved lugs give the otherwise simple round case a more expressive profile.
The watch shows pronounced vintage wear. The dial has widespread spotting, uneven discoloration and areas of surface deterioration.
