Impressive vintage handcrafted Moroccan covered pottery jar from the Fez/Fes tradition, featuring a rich emerald green glaze accented by elaborate silver-tone nickel filigree metalwork.
The jar is a substantial decorative piece, measuring approximately 15.5\" tall with a 28\" circumference at its widest point, or roughly 8.9\" in diameter.
Traditional Fez pottery is known for combining richly glazed ceramic surfaces with intricate Moorish decorative motifs. Examples of this type are often embellished with nickel silver, also known as maillechort, which provides the appearance of silver while allowing artisans to create extensive decorative metalwork around the pottery body.
