Unusual vintage Loyola High School of Los Angeles desk paperweight featuring the school’s historic crest and 1865 founding date.
The detailed crest incorporates traditional Jesuit imagery and is marked:

Loyola High School was founded in Los Angeles in 1865 and is recognized by the school as the oldest continuously operated educational institution in Southern California.
A particularly unusual piece of Los Angeles school, Loyola alumni and Jesuit memorabilia. I was unable to locate another example of this particular desk accessory during my search.
Vintage used condition with scratches, tarnish/discoloration and general surface wear to the gold-tone metal. There is visible age-related residue/oxidation around the interior edge of the lens. The lens itself has scattered marks consistent with use. Original maker and exact age are unknown.
1865 refers to Loyola’s founding year and is not being represented as the manufacture date of this piece.
