Vintage Japanese Kutani Peacock & Floral Gilt Porcelain Coffee / Tea Set – 15 Pieces
Beautiful vintage Japanese Kutani porcelain coffee or tea service featuring an elaborate peacock and floral design in iron red, coral, white and extensive gold gilt decoration.
The set has a striking traditional Japanese design combined with a Western-style coffee service form. The tall coffee pot has an elegant elongated spout and handle, and the pieces are richly decorated with peacocks, flowers, foliage and hand-applied gold details.
Each piece bears a red square seal-style mark on the underside consistent with Kutani ware. Based on the form, porcelain body, decoration and mark, this set appears to date to the mid-20th century / Showa era, likely circa 1950s–1960s.

The porcelain is relatively thin and translucent when held to light. The gold decoration remains bright and presents beautifully.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition overall. Two saucers have small edge chips, as shown in the close-up photographs. Please carefully review all photos for condition. Normal minor wear consistent with age may be present, particularly to the gilt decoration. No other damage is noted from our inspection.
A beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find complete vintage Kutani service, ideal for display, collecting, or use as an elegant decorative coffee/tea set.
