Beautiful vintage Kazuri Kenya hand-painted ceramic art pottery teapot, believed to date from approximately the late 1980s–1990s.
This striking handmade piece features a rounded studio-pottery form with a long curved spout, substantial handle, fitted lid, and bold abstract hand-painted glaze in shades of teal/turquoise, mustard yellow, burgundy, black, and gray.
The underside is hand signed “Kazuri Kenya.”
Kazuri was founded in Kenya in 1975 and became known internationally for handmade ceramic beads and pottery created by Kenyan artisans. Historical records show that the original Kazuri Beads and Pottery business transitioned to Kazuri 2000 Limited beginning in 2001. This piece carries the simpler hand-painted “Kazuri Kenya” mark and does not bear later “Kazuri 2000 Ltd.” corporate labeling.
Based on the handwritten Kazuri Kenya mark, form, glaze style, and company history, this piece is believed to date from approximately the late 1980s–1990s. An exact production year has not been established.
