A beautiful piece of mid-century Puerto Rican art pottery, attributed to Isla Del Sol. This stoneware dish has an organic oval form with two pulled handles and a raised, hand-carved iconic Isla del Sol scrolling design.Isla Del Sol is associated with master potter Hal Lasky, whose Puerto Rican pottery workshops in Santurce helped define mid-century modern ceramics on the island. Each piece was individually shaped, carved, and glazed by hand, so no two are quite alike.Condition: Honest vintage condition consistent with age. The speckling and glaze variation are original to the making, not flaws. Unsigned, as many of these were.Measurements: Approximately 9 inches long including handles.
